Could you and your friends raise £1,690? This amount would fund the costs to provide support to a family with a seriously ill child for a whole year.
Do you have an interest in local community-based events? Are you looking to volunteer your time for a great cause? Are you able to bring family, friends and peers together? Would you be interested in organising and planning your own event for Rainbow Trust?
Yes? Well we have the perfect opportunity for you.
This opportunity is a great way to spend time with like minded people, plan your event around your commitments, and have fun whilst helping families who have a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness.
The event(s) you organise could be a standalone event or part of existing community occasions. Examples of these include holding bakes sales, coffee mornings, collections at local supermarkets/shopping centres, setting up a stall at a local fete or fayre, sponsored walks, dog walks, dinners or quizzes, the list is endless!
Members of the group will be involved with promoting all upcoming events by handing out leaflets, promoting by word-of-mouth and/or on social media. A member of the group will also be responsible for the collection of donations, ensuring that the money is paid to Rainbow Trust in a timely manner.
As a member of your Friends Group, you will need:
- A passion for the cause
- Good organisational and communication skills
- The ability to recruit and inspire members of your group
- A good knowledge of your local area is desirable
- Age 18+ is required for the Friends Group organiser, however, all ages are welcome as helpers and members of the group (under 18s with appropriate adult supervision).
The amount of time required for the event(s) you organise is entirely dependent on other commitments, as well as the availability of your group members.
This is a great way to make an impact in your local community, develop new and existing organisational and creative skills, make new friends, directly support a leading family charity, and have the chance to make a real change to families’ lives.
