Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity provides emotional and practical support for families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. This Sunday Times Top 100 Not-For-Profit organisation is looking to appoint a Volunteer Coordinator to support the Volunteer Development Manager in the development and delivery of the Rainbow Trust volunteer programme.
This is an exciting time for a conscientious and outgoing administrator to join Rainbow Trust as we are an ambitious charity with a clear vision for growth and a strong sense of values. Your collaborative and thorough approach to producing accurate and high quality work based on established guidelines will be recognised in our high-performing organisation. Reporting to the Volunteer Development Manager, you will be involved in all aspects of the volunteer programme including recruitment, induction, administration, management, support and volunteer engagement.
Along with ensuring the smooth and efficient management of all volunteering enquiries, you will promote new volunteering opportunities on the Rainbow Trust website, external websites and with local volunteer centres; and represent Rainbow Trust at local networking meetings, building relationships with local volunteer centres. Having worked in an administrative or customer support role, you will be an outgoing, friendly communicator who is considerate of the needs of others. Your strong oral and written communication skills will empower you to respond promptly to enquiries, maintain accurate records on the volunteer database, and assist with the planning of regional volunteering recruitment events.
With your consistent and disciplined approach to work, you thrive on completing tasks accurately in a steady, methodical manner. Having held an administrative or back office support role (preferably in an SME), you are fully competent with the MS Office suite of products, which you will comfortably use to produce reports and update relevant websites and social media with marketing communication. Your experience with a database and Office 365 will enable you to maintain volunteer records on thankQ (our fundraising database) and manage the general administration for the volunteering team.
You understand that co-operation and harmonious working relationships are important to being a helpful and supportive team member. Applications will be particularly welcome from those who have worked or volunteered in a charity, and have experience of working with volunteers. Educated to A-level (or equivalent) you will build expertise through a commitment to your continuing professional development. This role would be particularly suitable for someone looking to develop a career in Volunteer Management. Some UK travel will be required.
To apply please send your CV and a covering letter highlighting why your application should be considered above others to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Interviews will take place at our head office in Leatherhead on 30 August 2017, with second interviews to follow on 7 September 2017. We will only contact those applicants who have been successful. An enhanced DBS disclosure will be required for this post.
