Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity provides emotional and practical support for families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. This Sunday Times Top 100 Not-For-Profit organisation is looking to appoint a Volunteer Project Manager to support our South West Team. This is role is a one year fixed term contract to embed and roll out a volunteer programme alongside the leading and developing all our volunteers in this area.

Your persuasive, inclusive approach to achieving goals quickly and correctly will be recognised in our high-performing organisation. Reporting to the National Manager, you will take responsibility for the evaluation of a volunteer programme, with the possibility of roll out to another area, with the aim to increase the support offered to families with a child with a life threatening or terminal illness.
You will be responsible for the recruitment and the support of all our volunteers within this designated area together with the matching of volunteers to families and evaluation of the support offered. Managing a team of volunteers, you enjoy making collaborative decisions within your area and project enthusiasm and team participation.
Comfortable working at a faster than average pace, and with excellent attention to detail, you will thrive in completing tasks accurately and efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and policies. Having worked within a community environment you have a commitment to working in partnership with children, young people and their families. An outgoing and persuasive communicator, you will maintain effective relationships with stakeholders including families, partners and statutory, private and other voluntary agencies.
You understand, through your successful volunteer management experience, that quickly connecting with people is essential. Applications are particularly welcome from those who understand the expanding scope of the field of volunteering and volunteer development; and the legislative and regulatory requirements relevant to volunteers educated to Diploma level or equivalent, your strong networking skills and confident use of MSOffice will support your friendly, responsive working style.
There will be a requirement for flexible working and a full current driver’s license to accommodate team and family need.
