Our dedicated Sibling Support Workers, part-funded by the Big Lottery Fund, gave extra care to children coping with a brother’s or sister’s life threatening or terminal illness. They helped them come to terms with their sibling’s diagnosis, to deal with their changed and often very challenging family circumstances, and to keep hold of a ‘normal life’ as much as possible.

We began four new sibling groups around the country plus a hospital in-reach group in Newcastle. We also launched our ‘Born Friends’ awareness campaign highlighting the huge impact that a child’s serious illness can have on their brothers and sisters.
