This fund has been set up for Iris Connolly
It wasn't until just after Iris's 3rd birthday that we had any idea that something was wrong. Her first ever visit to a hospital took place whilst on holiday in Borneo. Two days later she underwent 13 hours of surgery to remove a Stage 4 medulloblastoma brain tumour.
On returning home to the UK, Iris underwent a further year of treatment. We had no family nearby but friends stepped in to help with things like babysitting Iris's 10 month old sister, Athina, whilst we did parenting duty swaps at the hospitals. The thing we found really difficult was getting Iris to and from hospital. Zero immunity meant that public transport was out of the question and a single parent couldn't drive and attend to Iris when she was being constantly sick.
That's when Rainbow Trust came to our rescue, with Alison and her trusty blue Berlingo transporting us safely and smoothly to appointment after appointment. Recognising their value, we started fundraising for the Rainbow Trust immediately.
“Thats when Rainbow Trust came to our rescue, with Alison and her trustly blue Berlingo transporting us safely and smoothly to appointment after appointment.”
We've raised £32,543 for Rainbow Trust so far
