The Alton Cars team came, saw and conquered the epic Ben Nevis Challenge and raised £5,000 for Rainbow Trust.
The adventure began on Friday morning with the team setting off in 2 motor homes for bonny Scotland.
After a pit stop en route, they arrived in Fort William to set up camp for the next days challenges. At 5am the next day the team began those challenges. First was a 4 hour climb up a very snowy, misty and wet Ben Nevis. After conquering the 1,344 meter summit the team headed back down for the cycle leg of the challenge. The team of eight set off for the 15 mile bike ride with some very steep hills. This was very quickly followed by a 3 km row and a 10 mile bike ride back to base camp. All of this was completed in just under 11 hours - well done team!
Alton Cars have supported Rainbow Trust since 2012 and this challenge was one of many they have undertaken to help Rainbow Trust care for families with a seriously ill child.
As in previous years, we’re proud to support a fantastic cause such as Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, an organisation that looks after families with terminally ill children. Alton Cars have covered all costs of the event ourselves so every single penny donated is goes to charity. All donations really will make a difference.
