Last Friday (19/08/2022), we welcomed 27 teams to Tyrrells Wood Golf Club to play a fantastic 18-hole course. Beginning with a rainy start, the sun quickly came out to greet us, making it the perfect day.
The day started with bacon butties, followed by a staggered tee-off for each team. Around the course we had fundraising activities, such as ‘Hit The Green’ at the 16th hole. When returning off the course, players were met with live music to enjoy on the terrace with drinks. In the evening, we had a wonderful two-course buffet, followed by a raffle and an auction, including some excellent prizes such as a 4-ball at Tandridge Golf Course, four tickets to see Sister Act in the West End, and a tech bundle worth £700.
We are so grateful to everyone who attended and who generously donated. Thanks to everyone who donated and our amazing prize donors, we were able to raise £15,000 to help continue providing families with a seriously ill child with the practical and emotional support they so desperately need.
Elodie Pinn, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser, said:
“Thank you so much to everyone who came to our Golf Day. It was so wonderful to see so many of our incredible supporters enjoying themselves. Thanks to everyone’s generous support, we raised enough to provide 576 hours of support for a family with a seriously ill child. For many, this support can be the difference between coping and falling apart. We hope to see lots of familiar faces return next year for another great day!”
Sharon Nicholls, Charity Champion at St James Group Ltd, said:
“We had a brilliant day at Rainbow Trust’s Annual Golf Day. All our teams had a fantastic time, and we are so happy with the amount raised for Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity. Thank you so much for having us – we can’t wait for next year!”
A huge thank you to Bob Green; Tony Ludbrook; Dennis Cleary; Sharon Nicholls; St James and all their teams; Harbottle & Lewis, K2 Corporate Mobility; Hanover Search; WCN Publishing; and Tyrrells Wood Golf Club.
