A select group of businesses in North Hampshire have been chosen by local residents to feature in a concierge-style book, known as “North Hampshire’s Little Gems”.
The book has been created by a small group of local people supporting Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity, which supports families caring for a terminally ill or life threatened child. It will showcase little-known or favourite shops, services and suppliers in North Hampshire ranging from restaurants and boutiques to photographers and florists, as well as a short comment from each contributor.
“North Hampshire’s Little Gems” launches on 23rd April 2015 at Nutley Stables, Nutley, Hampshire and all proceeds from the book will go to Rainbow Trust. A family supported by the charity will also be there talking about how Rainbow Trust has made a difference to their lives and highlighting the need for fundraising events like this to help other families in need.
The charity has also run a competition with local schools to design a spread for the book, which will go on sale from April in outlets across North Hampshire.
Donna Dyer, who instigated the creation of the North Hampshire’s Little Gems book, commented:
“This is a book which will provide local people and visitors to North Hampshire with a personal recommendation of some of the businesses operating in the area. It has been a fantastic experience to research this book and pull together such a great example of how diverse small businesses are in our community. This book provides a great opportunity to raise vital funds to help support families with a terminally ill or life threatened child.”
Anna Borrini, Major Donor Fundraiser at Rainbow Trust, says:
“We are delighted to be involved in the launch and are thankful to have such wonderful supporters in Hampshire. As a charity, we rely almost entirely on voluntary donations so events like this give us the opportunity to raise awareness of the vital support we offer families when they need it most.”
