Once I completed my studies at University, I knew that I wanted to work in the third sector. I really wanted to gain some work experience in a charity and see how it runs. After weeks of searching, I decided to look locally and came across the Fundraising Internship with the Regional Team on the Rainbow Trust website. The internship looked perfect and would provide me with the different skills I was looking for and help with me with my future job prospects.
During my first week at Rainbow Trust everyone was so welcoming and helpful. My team were wonderful and always so supportive. The atmosphere of the office is amazing. All these incredible people who are just as passionate as you and really want and do make that difference in the world.
During my internship with Rainbow Trust, I was given a range of tasks, including data basing, admin work and joining in with meetings. I also had the chance to get involved in lots great and exciting things at the many events that I attended. One being the Charity Walk for Peace in London; the very colourful Colour 5k event in Dorking and fundraising at Haskins Garden Centre in Southampton.
Overall, the internship has provided me with a wonderful introduction in the third sector. Every working day inspires you, everyday teaches you something new and everyday makes you smile.
