The Nuffield Council on Bioethics has this week, on the 18th September 2023, published a report on disagreements in the care of critically ill children.

Director of Care, Anne Harris, says:

Rainbow Trust welcomes this new report which recommends that more help is given to parents and professionals to prevent and resolve disagreements in the care of critically ill children. Families caring for a critically ill child are under extreme pressure and any form of conflict or disagreement with the clinical team caring for their child can magnify the stress under which they are operating – any additional help and support is to be welcomed to ensure that families feel supported in their decision making and while caring for their child.
