Firm aims to help families with terminally ill children through fundraising and volunteering.
Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity has been selected as Stephenson Harwood’s charity of the year beginning from May 2016. Stephenson Harwood is an international law firm of over 900 people worldwide, including over 140 partners and has adopted a charity of the year scheme to focus its charitable work in a meaningful way.
Stephenson Harwood will support us both in terms of providing financial contributions to their efforts, and offering invaluable volunteer time. The firm has already pledged an initial financial donation, and will be matching funds raised by employees throughout the duration of the partnership. One of the primary reasons that the Rainbow Trust was chosen as the firm’s charity partner was the range of practical volunteering opportunities in which supporters are able to take part. These include assisting in activity days for the children whom the charity supports, offering mentoring and sharing their professional skills.
“We are delighted to partner with Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity as the firm’s new charity of the year. Rainbow Trust provides critical emotional and practical support to families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. The charity is a great choice for us to support both through our fundraising efforts and through volunteering our staff time, particularly given the meaningful, creative and fun programme of events that Rainbow Trust has suggested we get involved with. We anticipate an action packed programme from day one and very much look forward to working with the charity over the coming months.” Roland Foord, Senior Partner
“We are absolutely delighted to have been selected as Stephenson Harwood’s charity of the year. The partnership will have a huge impact for Rainbow Trust, enabling us to support more families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. We have already received a great response from employees willing to fundraise for us and we can’t wait for the partnership to start”. Emma Haines Director of Marketing and Fundraising at Rainbow Trust.
