Since partnering with Rainbow Trust back in April 2023, Taylor Wimpey South Thames has committed to raising over £30,000. Eight months into the partnership and well over halfway to this total, the partnership has become so much more than just fundraising.
Alex Richards, Managing Director at Taylor Wimpey South Thames, said:
“We’ve been working closely with Rainbow Trust to plan a variety of fundraising and volunteering activities across the remainder of 2023 and are delighted by the response of so many of our employees, who've rallied behind the cause in their numbers and are making their own pledges as part of our fundraising mission”
From pro-bono work aiding the families we support, to volunteering at festivals we wanted to highlight some of the amazing voluntary work Taylor Wimpey’s employees have been getting up to so far!
The team kicked off their volunteering with a family event at Bocketts Farm, organised by Rainbow Trust. This gave the families that Rainbow Trust supports a chance to have some fun, whilst having access to additional support from their family support worker and volunteers who helped to entertain siblings.
From as early as the launch of our partnership, there has been plans in place for Taylor Wimpey’s Customer Service Team to offer out their expert Customer Service Operators (CSO’s) to complete pro-bono work for any families who could benefit from a skilled tradesman. Across multiple days, a team of six Taylor Wimpey South Thames CSO’s got to work revamping a sibling’s bedroom and a family’s balcony that was in need of some sprucing up.
A mum supported by Rainbow Trust had this to say about the work that was done:
“They (Taylor Wimpey Volunteers) were so lovely and kind and just went above and beyond to help us”
“It has been such a pleasure to work with Taylor Wimpey South Thames over the last six months. You can feel the desire of all the employees to truly get involved and make an impact and it’s been so much fun to work together on projects that make such a tangible difference to the lives of some of the families that we support. I can’t wait to keep building on the work we’ve done together over the next six months!” – Oliver Christie, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity"
Following the practical volunteering, it was back to fundraising events. Despite threats of torrential rain and thunderstorms, a team of three volunteers attended Tyrrells Wood Golf Club to support us with our annual golf day, which raised over £12,000.
And last, but certainly not least, was CarFest! Rainbow Trust was lucky enough to be chosen as one of the beneficiary charities at this long weekend filled with cars, music, and entertainment. With support from Taylor Wimpey South Thames volunteers, we hosted a crazy golf course.
Justine Webber, Personal Assistant at Taylor Wimpey South Thames, said:
“Volunteering is easy and it is also rewarding on many different levels. It has been a great way to get to know the Rainbow Trust team on a more personal level and to get to see the different and creative ways the team work together to raise monies for the Rainbow Trust”
Thank you so much to all the employees at Taylor Wimpey South Thames who have gone above and beyond to help aid our events and families that we support. We can’t wait to see what we achieve together next!
