Senior MD at Borealis, an OMERS Company, and his colleague completed their first half marathon last weekend, collectively raising over £12,000 to support seriously ill children and their families.
Philippe Busslinger (pictured left), along with colleague Toby Parkinson, ran the 13.1 mile Royal Parks Half Marathon on 9 October, which weaves through Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Green Park and St James’s Park.
Employees at the London office of OMERS, one of Canada’s largest pension plans, have raised thousands of pounds for Rainbow Trust in the past by taking part in sporting events including, marathons and a triathlon.
In this latest challenge, Philippe has so far raised and incredible £8,966.25 for the charity, he said:
“OMERS employees are very focused on giving back to the communities in which we live and work. Rainbow Trust is a very worthy cause, and Toby and I enjoyed taking on the half marathon for such an amazing charity.”
Philippe Busslinger is Senior Managing Director at OMERS Private Markets, which invests in infrastructure and private equity assets on the pension plan’s behalf.
OMERS employees also had the opportunity to take part in a recent volunteer day with families supported by Rainbow Trust and together are also organising a charity stair-climb, Grate48, in November at the Leadenhall Building, which is the home of the OMERS London office.
Emma Haines, Director of Fundraising and Marketing at Rainbow Trust, said:
“It’s down to people like Philippe and Toby that we can continue raising vital funds to support families in need. We would like to thank them for helping us to raise awareness of the work Rainbow Trust does.”
